Celebrate Strawberry Shortcake Day at Macy's Downtown Minneapolis

This is a sponsored post by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Macy's however, thoughts and opinions are my own.

Come and celebrate Strawberry Shortcake Day on June 14 at Macy's Minneapolis downtown location. Taste demos from the Dorothy Ann Bakery, Keys at the Foshay, and the Design Cuisine Catering as they put a fun twist on everybody's favorite American dessert Strawberry Shortcake. You'll get a chance to try three versions and get a prize when you cast your vote for your favorite. Tickets are free but you must RSVP. The fun begins Tuesday at noon. For more info and more locations, visit www.macys.com/events.

All this talk about Strawberry Shortcake put me in the mood for some. I headed to the store, grabbed a few ingredients and whipped up my take on the delicious summer treat.

Easy Red, White, and Blue Strawberry Shortcake

This is super easy to make. Just buy angel food cakes and fill with fresh fruit. Top with whip cream.
For fresh fruit with syrup (pictured above) follow these directions.

Fresh Fruit Syrup

Clean fresh strawberries and blueberries. (I use a water and vinegar bath to clean my fruits and veggies). Make sure fruit is dry. Pour a generous amount of sugar over all the fruit making sure everything is coated well. Refrigerate for several hours. Serve when ready.

Will you be celebrating Strawberry Shortcake Day?

  4. My youngest daughter would love this minus the blueberries. I would probably substitute them with raspberries since she is allergic to blueberries.
